Geographic Location

Mexico lies just south of the United States of America. To the east is the Yucatan Peninsula, with its shores in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean. To the south lie Belize and Guatemala with their impressive rain forests. To the west is the Pacific Ocean and to the northwest is the peninsula of Baja California separated from the mainland by the Gulf of California or Sea of Cortes.

Mexico is a naturally beautiful and diverse country. Eight times the size of Britain and four times the size of France, Mexico is a vast tropical country of high plateaus and mountain ranges bordered east and west by over 8,000 miles of coastline. From the mystical Mayan cities and jungles of the Yucatan Peninsula straddling the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean to the high sierras and deserts in the center and north, Mexico’s varied natural attractions draw visitors from all over the globe.
